Buenos Aires is mostly, like any other big city, full of stone. There are some parks but they are mostly playgrounds and don’t really give you the feeling you are in a park.

Luckily at the north end of BA there is El Tigre, on the delta of the Parana river.

Buenos Aires è per lo più, come ogni altra grande città, piena di pietre e mattoni. Ci sono alcuni parchi ma sono per lo più parco giochi e non ti danno la sensazione di trovarti in un parco.
Fortunatamente all’estremità nord di Buenos Aires c’è El Tigre, sul delta nel fiume Paranà.

Tigre has a long history with both ends of the social ladder: the rich (aristocratic people that build houses like the old casino – today a museum- below) and the poor (smugglers from Uruguay that found an easy way into Buenos Aires)

Tigre ha una lunga storia con entrambe le estremità della scala sociale: i ricchi (aristocratici che costruirono case come il vecchio casino’ – oggi museo – qui sotto) e poveri (contrabbandieri dell’Uruguay che trovarono un modo facile per entrare a Buenos Aires)

These days there are more middle class people living on all the little islands in the delta (which are now well kept islands with carefully manicured grass that would make the Swiss people jealous)

In questi giorni ci sono più borghesi che vivono su tutte le piccole isole del delta (che ora sono diventate isole ben tenute con erba accuratamente curata che farebbe ingelosire la popolazione svizzera)

There is actual normal life going on in the delta (not just holiday homes). We even saw a school! (With the equivalent of the schoolbus in front 🙂

la gente svolge una vita normale nel delta (non ci sono solo case per le vacanze). Abbiamo anche visto una scuola! (Con l’equivalente dello scuolabus di fronte 🙂

Because the Delta is quite big (we took a kayak tour and it took us 45 minutes by motor boat to get from the Tigre station to the island where we took the kayaks) people go very fast through the canals:

Our tour with the Kayak (eldoradokayak.com) was amazing! In about 2.5 hours we went though a whole selection of little canals and saw all the lush green places in the delta
